30 days of prayer

1/20 :: you are the body...

read 1 corinthians 12:27

we have all felt insignificant at times, but no one is insignificant in the body of Christ. we need each other in order to fully function as a body. the question we must ask of God is, what specific roles are we to play in the life of the ring community church? in the past week we have covered many of the basics related to unity, evangelism, community, and discipleship, but how do we as individuals fit into the realization of those ideals by this church?

† only God can answer those questions. he has made it clear that each of us is a part of the body, today let us ask him to get specific…

  • Father, thank You for all You are doing, and thank You for allowing us to be a part of it all. What an awesome gift!

Lord, thank You that, despite our different roles, we continue to become more like You. What an amazing thought! We, collectively, make up the Body of Christ, each of us serving a different role, yet becoming Christlike, each and every one of us.

Father, may we rejoice in our differences - let us rejoice when You display different aspects of Yourself through the unique giftings and lives of each of us. Thank You for surprising us - for keeping us on our toes.

Father, we pray today for specificity. Lord, we desire to know what part of the Body You made us to be, and how You want us to become more and more like You. We desire to know what Your plan for us is within the life of this church, and the Church. We desire to have You lead us into the specific roles within this Body that You have created specifically for each one of us.

Father, may we stay ever humble before You. May this never be about us. May Your Kingdom reign in this place.

    In Jesus' name we pray,

    AMEN
