30 days of prayer

1/30 :: they gave to anyone...

read acts 2:42-47

this description of the early church gives us tremendous insight into not only the lifestyles and attitudes of this unique group, but also the impact they had on their community. they display a radical generosity that seems almost unfathomable to us today, and that generosity is a part of what got the attention of the entire region. imagine what kind of message that would send to our city. think about how generosity communicates truths about God that we cannot communicate in any other way.

† do you think that same kind of radical generosity is possible today? what holds us back? what holds you back? make a list, and use that as your prayer guide for today…

  • Father God,
Thank You for this beautiful day you have blessed us with. What a wonderful gift from You, especially in January.

Father, break us of our selfishness and instill in us a servants heart. That we would go to those around us and put their needs above our own. Thank You Father, for the changes You are making and will make in our hearts. I love You and pray all this in Jesus' name.

    Amen

  • Father, thank You, thank You, thank You. Praise Your holy name forever and ever!

Father, instill in us that spirit of generosity that creates in us an insatiable desire to love Your people with all we are and all we have. For You are all that we have, and all we have is Yours. It's all about You, Lord.

    Praise You, Jesus. AMEN

  • So much of this unhindered generosity comes from a change in mindset which comes from teaching which is what we are doing. That is exciting. May the Lord always reconstruct our views and understanding to align them with His higher thoughts and ways.
