according to this text, there are two components of disciple making: baptizing (the public declaration of conversion) and teaching the converts how to live out their new faith (discipleship, mentoring, etc.). Father, thank You for this day, this night, the time to come before You to lay this church at Your feet. Praise You for that.
Father, for whatever reason, I rarely pray for specifics. But this night, I ask You specifically for a baptismal font. We can always go the plastic swimming pool route, or the calf washer route, and we would be just fine with that. But Father, if it pleases You, may we have a font - a portable font that will allow the Ring Community Church to perform our own baptisms without having to go to the "mother"church to do so? It seems such a silly request, but I ask You for it anyway.
Father, I also ask You to make our hearts willing to go, to minister, to speak truth, to lead your people to You, and to equip them to continue Your work. Thank You that You did that in the lives of those who led us to You. Lord, may we pay that forward into someone else's life.
I ask these things in Jesus' name. AMEN
